Noticed: Layering Coats and Jackets

Before we dip into polar-vortex, parka-requiring temperatures, we’re fine-tuning our game plan. What does that mean exactly? Layers, layers, layers.

The trompe l’oeil effect of wearing a light jacket as a layer allows you to turn the volume of whatever’s on top up or down. Paired with leather leggings or trusted jeans, a slim and sleek car coat gets some grit. A waxed flak jacket can be reigned in with a more tailored piece beneath it. It’s a three-second investment that leaves you looking all that much more considered (not to mention warm).

Plus, it’s a quick cure for wardrobe indecision—or the inability to shut a too-full closet now that the big guys have been pulled out of their seasonal hibernation.
